17th June Workshop

I was looking forward to seeing Colin and carol again as i had planned to do casts and cyontype with rings. But unfortunately Colin fell ill and couldn't make it to the workshop, i was upset about it as i was really looking forward to seeing him. I hope he gets better and will be able to come to future workshops.

I decided that i would need to press on with the workshop and think more of my feet. i was partnered up with Elana and a patient called Christine. We spoke about hair dye as Christine said how she liked to dye her hair before her chemotherapy. She also spoke about her interest in Great Frog jewelry and the music she liked. i found out that we both really enjoyed the same type of music which i thought was funny due to our age differences.

we used glass wax, wax casting and cyontype. i think the workshop went well as Christine easily understood wax casting and cyontype which were quite difficult to explain. i think she enjoyed the workshop as she was really involved with the activities. she liked the wax casting and the objects i brought in to cast (buttons and rings) which brought up the conversation about her favourite ring. she drew the ring on acetate for us so that we could put it onto cyontype which was helpful, the idea of getting the patient to draw for us onto cyontype may be used in my final piece.
